We will take an adventurous journey through the Andes on our Machu Picchu by Car experience. This alternative route will combine scenic drives, jungle hikes, and an unforgettable visit to the Inca citadel. Our adventure will offer breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and exciting exploration. We will experience the magic of Machu Picchu with a well-planned and affordable itinerary.

Our Machu Picchu 2 Day Tour will start with a drive from Cusco through the Sacred Valley, passing towering mountains and deep valleys. We will reach Abra Málaga, the highest point of our route, before descending into the lush cloud forest. After a delicious lunch in Hidroelectrica, we will continue to Aguas Calientes. From here, we will hike through a beautiful trail surrounded by waterfalls, jungle, and the Urubamba River.

We will arrive at Aguas Calientes, a vibrant town at the foot of Machu Picchu Mountain. Here, we will check into a comfortable hotel and explore the town’s lively streets. We may relax in the famous hot springs before enjoying a well-deserved dinner. Our expert tour guides will provide essential information for our visit to Machu Picchu the next morning.

On the second day, we will wake up early to hike to Machu Picchu before sunrise. Those who prefer may take a short bus ride instead. We will enter Machu Picchu and explore its impressive stone structures with our guide. After our guided tour, we will have free time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

Later, we will descend to Aguas Calientes and start our return journey. We will hike back to Hydroelectric, where our private transport will be waiting. Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - Machu Picchu

We’ll leave Cusco early in the morning and head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our journey will pass through villages and lush Andean landscapes. We’ll ascend Abra Málaga, the highest point on our route, at 4,316 meters above sea level. Here we’ll stop to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

After crossing the pass, we will descend into the high jungle, where the scenery changes dramatically. We will drive through the warm region of Santa Teresa, known for its abundant vegetation and pleasant climate. After approximately 6 hours, we will arrive at Hydroelectric. Here, we will enjoy a delicious local lunch and prepare for the next part of our journey.

In the afternoon, we will begin our 10 km hike to Aguas Calientes. The path follows the railway, offering stunning views of waterfalls, mountains, and the roaring Urubamba River. The hike will take about 3 hours at a moderate pace. Upon arrival, we will check into a comfortable hotel and rest before exploring the town.

In the evening, we may visit the hot springs, perfect for relaxing after our journey. Later, we will have dinner at a local restaurant, where we will receive an important briefing from our tour guides. We will go to bed early to prepare for our visit to Machu Picchu Mountain the next day.

We will wake up early and begin our ascent to Machu Picchu Mountain before sunrise. The hike is 1.7 km (1 mile) uphill and takes around 1.5 hours. Those who prefer not to walk may take a 30-minute bus ride from Aguas Calientes to the entrance. Upon arrival, we will enter Machu Picchu and explore its majestic stone structures.

Our tour guides will lead us through the most important areas of the Inca citadel. We will visit the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, and the Temple of the Condor. From the terraces, we will admire the spectacular views of the surrounding Andes Mountains and the Urubamba River below. We will have free time to take photos and absorb the mystical atmosphere.

After our visit to Machu Picchu, we will descend to Aguas Calientes. We will have time for lunch and may explore the town’s train station, local markets, or cafés. In the afternoon, we will hike back 10 km (6.2 miles) to Hydroelectric, enjoying the serene jungle landscape.

At Hydroelectric, our private transport will be waiting. We will begin our 6-hour drive back to Cusco. The journey will take us through the beautiful valleys and mountains of the Sacred Valley. In the evening, we will arrive in Cusco, concluding our unforgettable Machu Picchu by Car 2 Day Tour.
