    Itinerary

    Day 1ATV RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR

Your adventure begins in the early hours of the morning, when we pick you up directly from your hotel in Cusco. The drive through the quiet Andean landscapes is peaceful and allows guests to rest as we make our way toward the southern valley. Our first stop is the small town of Cusipata, where a warm semi-buffet breakfast awaits. This meal provides the perfect boost of energy needed for the high-altitude adventure that lies ahead.

After breakfast, the journey continues upward into the Andes until we reach the remote community of Japura–Laya, located at 4,700 meters above sea level. Upon arrival, the cold highland air and sweeping mountain views set the stage for an unforgettable experience. Here, our professional guide gives a complete safety briefing and explains the proper use of the ATVs. Guests receive helmets, gloves, and all necessary equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride.

Once everyone feels comfortable with the ATVs, the true excitement begins. Riding through panoramic high-altitude trails for approximately 35 minutes, we make our way toward the upper viewpoint of the Red Valley. Thanks to the early start, our group is among the first to arrive, offering a calm and crowd-free moment to appreciate the striking red landscapes created by mineral-rich mountains. This is one of the most vibrant and photogenic valleys in the region, and guests have time to take in the beauty and capture unforgettable images.

From the Red Valley viewpoint, the adventure continues on foot. A scenic hike leads toward the famous Rainbow Mountain, passing through dramatic ridges, colorful slopes, and distant snowcapped peaks. The 45-minute walk is filled with natural wonders and the chance to encounter alpacas grazing freely in their natural habitat. When we reach the top, the iconic view of Rainbow Mountain unfolds—an extraordinary sight shaped by millions of years of mineral deposition. Here, guests can explore the area, take photos and videos, and enjoy the peaceful majesty of this Andean treasure.

After taking in the views, we return along the same trail to the ATVs and prepare for the journey back to the base. The return ride is just as enjoyable, with sweeping valley views and the crisp mountain breeze accompanying the descent. Our transportation awaits us at the base, ready to take us back to Cusipata, where a well-deserved buffet lunch is served. This hearty meal is the perfect way to recharge after a morning full of adventure and exploration.

In the afternoon, we make our return journey to Cusco. The comfortable drive offers time to relax and reflect on the experiences of the day. Upon arrival, we drop you off near your hotel or in a convenient central location in the city. This tour combines adventure, breathtaking landscapes, and cultural immersion, delivering an unforgettable experience in one of the most colorful and captivating regions of the Peruvian Andes.
