We will first visit Moray, a fascinating Inca archaeological site with massive circular terraces. These unique formations will amaze us with their precision and purpose. Itinerary

ATV Maras Moray

Departure from Cusco & ATV Safety Briefing

We will start our adventure early in the morning with a pick-up from Cusco. A scenic drive through the Sacred Valley will bring us to the ATV base, where we will meet our guides. Before starting, we will receive a safety briefing and a quick riding lesson.

We will get comfortable on our quad bikes and begin the ride through stunning Andean landscapes. Towering snow-capped peaks, lush green valleys, and traditional villages will surround us. The crisp mountain air and winding dirt roads will make this a thrilling start.

Moray Archaeological Site

We will continue our ATV tour toward Moray, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Peru. These massive circular terraces, built by the Incas, functioned as an agricultural laboratory. Each level of the terraces creates a different microclimate, allowing for unique crop experimentation.

Our guide will explain how the Incas adapted to different altitudes and perfected their farming techniques. We will take time to explore the site and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Maras Salt Mines

We will ride our quad bikes across rolling hills and open fields, covering another 10 kilometers toward Maras. This historic village is home to the famous Maras salt mines, a network of over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountainside.

These pools have been used for salt production since the time of the Incas. Local families still extract salt using the same ancient methods. We will have time to walk among the salt terraces and take in the surreal landscape. The contrast of white salt against red hills creates a spectacular scene, perfect for photography.

Return to Cusco

After exploring Maras, we will ride back to the ATV base and say goodbye to our quad bikes. A comfortable vehicle will take us back to Cusco, passing through more breathtaking landscapes of the Valley of the Incas.

We will return to the city with unforgettable memories of this full-day adventure. This tour will leave us with a deeper appreciation for Inca engineering, Andean traditions, and the natural beauty of Peru’s Sacred Valley.
