We will start with an exciting mountain biking descent from 4,350 meters sea level to the warm jungle at 1,200 meters sea level). Itinerary

Day 1Cusco – Abra Málaga – Santa María (Biking & Rafting)

We’ll begin our 4-day tour early in the morning, departing from Cusco (3,400 meters above sea level) for the stunning Sacred Valley. The journey will take us through breathtaking Andean landscapes, passing villages and extensive farmland. After a few hours, we’ll arrive at Abra Málaga (4,350 meters above sea level), the highest point of our adventure.

Here, we will gear up for an exhilarating downhill mountain biking descent. We will ride along winding roads, surrounded by lush cloud forests and cascading waterfalls. The temperature will rise as we descend towards the tropical jungle. After approximately 55 km of biking, we will arrive in Santa María (1,200 meters sea level).

In the afternoon, we will enjoy an adventurous white-water rafting experience on the Urubamba River. The rapids (class III and IV) will provide an exciting challenge for thrill-seekers. After this unforgettable experience, we will settle into a cozy lodge and enjoy a delicious local dinner.

Day 2Santa María – Santa Teresa

We will start early, hiking along ancient Inca trails through dense jungle and towering mountains. This path, part of the Classic Inca Trail, offers stunning views of valleys and the Urubamba River. We will pass by plantations of coffee, coca, and tropical fruits, learning about local farming traditions.

As we ascend, we will reach a spectacular viewpoint, where we will admire the vast Peruvian jungle. Here, we will take a break and absorb the energy of this mystical land. The descent will take us through narrow trails lined with exotic flora and colorful butterflies.

After several hours of trekking, we will arrive at the relaxing Cocalmayo Hot Springs. These natural thermal pools will provide the perfect way to rejuvenate after a long hike. Later, we will continue to Santa Teresa (1,550 meters sea level), where we will rest for the night.

Day 2 Statistics:

Day 3Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes (Zipline & Trekking)

We will start the day with an optional zip-lining experience, soaring above the jungle canopy. This thrilling adventure will give us breathtaking aerial views of the Sacred Valley and surrounding mountains.

After breakfast, we will hike through scenic trails towards Hidroeléctrica, a key stop on our journey to Machu Picchu. We will follow the railway tracks, surrounded by towering cliffs and the roaring Vilcanota River. Along the way, we will spot diverse wildlife, including exotic birds and playful monkeys.

 

By afternoon, we will reach Aguas Calientes (2,040 m / 6,693 ft), the gateway to Machu Picchu Mountain. Here, we will check into our hotel and explore the charming town, visiting the local market and hot springs. After dinner, we will rest, preparing for our final ascent to the Lost City of the Incas.

Day 3 Statistics:

  • Highest altitude: 2,100 meters – Zip-line area
  • Lowest altitude: 1,550 meters- Santa Teresa
  • Route: Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

Day 4Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco (The Grand Finale)

We will wake up before dawn to start our trek to Machu Picchu. Climbing ancient stone steps, we will reach the entrance of the famous citadel (2,430 meters). As the sun rises, we will witness Machu Picchu’s mystical beauty, surrounded by towering peaks and lush forests.

Our guide leads us through this UNESCO site, explaining the history of its temples, terraces, and plazas. We will explore the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana Stone, and the Royal Tomb. 

After capturing unforgettable memories, we will descend to Aguas Calientes and board the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will take a bus, returning to Cusco by evening, marking the end of our epic Inka Jungle Trek.
